Photofacial therapy is a light-based treatment that utilizes light in a discrete range of wavelengths to reverse signs of aging from sun damage. Over time, all of us suffer some degree of skin damage due to repeated exposure to UV radiation. This results in change of skin texture, unevenness of pigment, discoloration, freckles, broken blood vessels and brown spots. IPL photofacials target discolored brown or red areas, thereby improving skin texture and color. A photofacial has the added benefit of stimulating collagen production to further counteract skin aging. Clinical reports show a tighter, more even complexion, with reduced pore size.
Often, a series of 4 to 6 treatments, carried out every 4 to 6 weeks, are recommended, followed by yearly maintenance treatments.
